Dear friends,
I am so excited to get back outside this month! Can you tell? The warmer weather definitely puts the spring back in my step and brings a big, silly smile to my face. Increased sunlight also means we can get more time to sketch and paint outside again, and you all know how much I love that!
Now, let’s all share our renewed energy and make some art together! Here are a few energy boosting artsy ideas for March:
Laughing is an amazing energy booster. Have you seen the Oscar Nominated Short Film: Affairs Of The Art. I adore Beryl and we all could use Bev to tell us to go for it! “No more assing about!” Plus, nude descending the staircase - I’m cracking up right now!
Now that it’s becoming safer to gather in the city, check out ArtsBoston for fun art events in Boston. I am excited to sketch the Rose Kennedy Greenway and go see an exhibition at the MFA, the ICA or the Gardner Museum!
Learning always gets my synapses firing and fuels me up, so take a spring art class!
Finally, don’t forget this very important plein air supply: Your Essex County Greenbelt Membership! The Greenbelt supports Slow River students by protecting our favorite sketching spots and sharing these beautiful open space with us for free. We want to help them right back. Join today!
We hope our suggestions inspire you to enjoy the warmer weather in a new way. We can’t wait to create with you this spring! Love, Jess and the Slow River Staff
